September started with a bang, with Royal Enfield announcing the prices of the new Classic 350 range. Now, we have another iconic name preparing to launch a new motorcycle — Jawa 42. The motorcycle maker has teased the new Jawa 42 motorcycle, revealing a few details, such as the hardware and overall design.

The teaser looks interesting, revealing a new design for the upcoming motorcycle that will be launched tomorrow (September 3). So let’s take a closer look.

New Jawa 42 — What to expect?

From the teaser image, the upcoming Jawa 42 motorcycle carries a classic, yet sporty design. The bike gets a reprofiled, narrow seat, a tear-drop fuel tank, wide bars, and upswept exhausts. Based on the seat and handlebar position, the rider will have a slightly forward-leaning position, giving the Jawa 42 a sporty character.

Hardware on the motorcycle consists of a single-piece handlebar, telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks, a new alloy wheel design mostly sporting fatter 17-inch tyres, and disc brakes at both ends. In terms of features, the new Jawa 42 will get a digital instrument console, LED lighting, and a dual-channel ABS.

Coming to the engine, it will be interesting to see what the motorcycle gets. Based on its sporty design, we hope the Jawa 42’s power mill could be the 334cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 29.8bhp. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

While more details will be known tomorrow, the motorcycle could rival the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. That said, expect Jawa to price the motorcycle around the Rs 2.2 lakh mark, ex-showroom. Stay tuned, as we will bring you more details about the Jawa 42 tomorrow.
