When it comes to adventure on two-wheeles, there is nothing like the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure. The motorcycle has a massive fan-following globally and the motorcycle is a good example of German engineering at its finest. Having launched the new R 1300 GSA globally last year, the company announced the prices for India at the Bharat Mobility Expo and for those looking for the ultimate adventure motorcycle that has the legs to tour the world, here are three things to know about the new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure.

BMW R 1300 GSA: Design

The new R 1300 GS Adventure is based on the same platform as the R 1300 GS that was launched in India last year, with all the tweaks done to the chassis, its suspension system, and the overall packaging of the motorcycle. The 1300 GSA gets a squarish design with a massive fuel tank with integrated auxiliary lights and the signature new headlight design seen on the R 1300 GS.

BMW R 1300 GSA: Features and hardware

The motorcycle retains its iconic telelever front suspension system and a monoshock at the rear, however, compared to the R 1300 GS, the GSA sees more travel. Other elements are shared, such as the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, disc brakes at both ends, a TFT instrument console, and more.

The R 1300 GSA gets full-integral ABS, lean-sensitive ABS, ride modes, hill start control, heated grips and phone connectivity along with navigation.

The R 1300 GSA gets dynamic suspension, which automatically lowers the bike when a rider is about to stop. To sum it up, the GSA gets all the bells and whistles a motorcycle manufacturer can offer.

BMW R 1300 GSA: Engine specifications

Powering the new R 1300 GSA is the same flat-twin that powers the R 1300 GS, the engine makes 145 bhp and 149 Nm of torque mated to BMW’s new AMT gearbox. The engine makes the same power as the GS while the automatic transmission made its debut with GSA. The gearbox also has a manual function, which allows the riders to shift gears.

Globally, the new R 1300 GSA competes with the Triumph Tiger 1200, Honda Africa Twin, Ducati Multistrada V4 and the potent KTM 1390 Adventure range. In India, the competition remains the same.
