The 650cc platform has proven itself to be reliable, powerful, and efficient for Royal Enfield, gaining global success. The platform now has four motorcycles – Interceptor, Continental GT, Super Meteor, and Shotgun – and more are on the way. The motorcycle maker has been spied testing the Classic 650 and the Scrambler 650.

The two motorcycles have been spotted testing earlier as well, on several occasions, however, this time, both have been spied testing together. Let’s start with the Classic 650, which has similar design features to that of the Classic 350, including the round headlight, side panels, tank, and fenders. However, expect the new Classic 650 to be larger than its 350cc sibling.

The motorcycle gets a slightly modified version of the 650cc chassis and is suspended with traditional telescopic forks with covers at the front, dual rear shocks, LED lights, disc brakes at both ends, wire-spoke wheels, and wider tyres. We can expect RE to launch the Classic 650 sometime in 2025.

Moving on to the Scrambler 650, the motorcycle gets a typical scrambler design with a flat seat, a higher handlebar, a round headlight, short fenders, and an upright riding position. Features include USD forks, dual rear shocks, wire spoke wheels wrapped in knobby tyres, and a round instrument cluster, similar to that of the new Himalayan.

Powering the two motorcycles will be the same 648cc, parallel-twin, air-cooled engine that makes 47bhp and 52Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Expect Royal Enfield to launch the Scrambler 650 in India sometime next year.
