KTM has unveiled two new motorcycles at India Bike Week (IBW), the 390 Adventure S and the 390 Enduro R. The two motorcycles were first showcased at EICMA and are being showcased in India for the first time. KTM says that bookings for the new KTM 390 Adventure S and Enduro R will commence on December 10, while the launch will take place in January.
KTM 390 Adventure S — More details
The KTM 390 Adventure S follows a similar design language to the larger adventure models in KTM’s lineup with a tall fairing, high-mounted front fender, LED lighting, 21-17 wire spoke wheel setup wrapped in Apollo Tramplr tyres, and disc brakes at both ends. The rear wheel setup is one inch smaller than the Adventure R model, which may not make it to India. The new KTM 390 Adventure S gets a TFT instrument console with all the electronic aids seen in the 390 Duke, along with a rally mode.
There are no details about the equipment in particular if the new 390 Adventure S will have adjustable forks or its dimensions or the set height. More details on this will emerge as the day goes by or in due course of time.
KTM 390 Adventure S — Engine specifications
KTM has not revealed the specifications of the new 390 Adventure S and the Enduro R models, however, it is safe to assume that they will be powered by the same 399cc engine that powers the 390 Duke. The engine is expected to make 45bhp and 39Nm of torque with the help of a six-speed gearbox in the Adventure S model.
When launched, the KTM 390 Adventure S will squarely take on the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. More details about the two motorcycles will emerge closer to their launch date scheduled to be in January 2025, most probably at the Bharat Mobility Expo.
