Honda has issued a recall in the US and Germany for the three motorcycle models — Gold Wing, CBR 1000 RR, and CBR 600 RR. The motorcycles that fall under the recall are made between 2018 and 2020. As per the recall, as many as 20,000 motorcycles are affected, of which 17,374 are from the US while 2,264 are from Germany.

Honda says that the announcement is owing to a faulty fuel pump. The company says that the impeller in the fuel pump was not cast as per specifications and could crack over time because of fuel residues. This, in turn, can cause the pump to fail and the vehicle shutting off.

Honda will replace the fuel pump free of cost and as per complaints received by the Japanese bike maker, the fuel pump issues have been reported in the US and Germany only.

As for Honda in India, the company sells the Gold Wing Tour, priced at Rs 39.20 lakh ex-showroom. The litre-class CBR 1000 RR and the CBR 600 RR are not sold here, however, with Kawasaki selling the ZX-6R in India, the CBR 600 RR will be a great alternative if Honda decides to bring it.
