Honda has unveiled the Gold Wing 50th anniversary edition, in order to celebrate 50 years of the iconic motorcycle. The Honda Gold Wing 50th anniversary edition will feature cosmetic updates compared to the standard version and also gets added features to make it truly special.
Honda Gold Wing 50th anniversary edition — What are the changes?
Starting with the visual updates, the 50th anniversary edition Gold Wing gets a striking new colour scheme, which Honda calls it Bordeaux Red Metallic and Eternal Gold. The colour combination gives the motorcycle a grand look, a bit from the olden days, one could say. That said, the body panels and the fairing are the same as the standard Gold Wing.
Features and equipment are another area of focus on the new Gold Wing 50th anniversary edition — the motorcycle now gets standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument console also has a special message that reads the year the Gold Wing was first made — 1975. The special edition Gold Wing also has type C charging ports for phones and other devices.
Mechanically, there are no changes and the Gold Wing 50th anniversary edition is powered by the same 1,833cc, liquid-cooled, six-cylinder engine that makes 124bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. Honda will be bringing a few units of the Gold Wing 50th anniversary edition to India and expect the Japanese brand to demand a slight premium over the standard Gold Wing.
