Honda Activa e vs Suzuki e Access: Which scooter leads the charge?

The two industry heavyweights in the two-wheeler sector, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India and Suzuki India, are making their entry into the electric vehicle market. Honda has already launched the highly anticipated Activa e: at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, while Suzuki has unveiled the e-Access, which is set to make its debut soon. Here’s everything you need to know about these two upcoming electric scooters.

Honda Activa e vs Suzuki e Access: Battery specs and Range

Both Japanese manufacturers have taken unique approaches to the electric two-wheeler segment. The Activa e from Honda features swappable battery technology, with two 1.5 kWh batteries neatly tucked under the seat. Powered by a swingarm-mounted motor delivering 6 kW of power and 22 Nm of torque, the Activa e can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 80 kmph. Honda claims the scooter offers a range of 102 km and offers three riding modes: Econ, Standard, and Sport. The batteries can only be charged at Honda’s exclusive Power Pack Exchanger e: battery swapping stations. As part of its infrastructure plans, Honda intends to set up approximately 250 battery-swapping stations in Bengaluru by 2026.

The Suzuki e-Access, in contrast, is equipped with a fixed LFP battery offering a capacity of 3.07 kWh and a swingarm-mounted motor that delivers 4.1 kW of power and 15 Nm of torque. Suzuki claims the e-Access can reach a top speed of 71 kmph and features three riding modes. In terms of charging, the e-Access battery takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 per cent, while a full charge takes approximately 6 hours and 42 minutes. However, with the fast charging option, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 1 hour and 12 minutes, and a full charge takes 2 hours and 12 minutes.

The Activa e boasts a futuristic design reminiscent of a robot from a Hollywood sci-fi movie, with sleek LED DRLs that give it a friendly, modern appearance. The scooter features an all-LED lighting system, including the headlight integrated into the apron, as well as LED indicators and a stylish tail lamp.

It is offered in two variants: the Activa e and the Honda RoadSync Duo. The base model is equipped with a 5-inch TFT display, while the premium RoadSync Duo variant features a more advanced 7-inch Android-based display. Both trims come standard with reverse mode, a dashboard with auto-brightness adjustment, a side-stand indicator, and a smart key.

The RoadSync Duo variant includes Bluetooth connectivity and offers a range of advanced features such as Topple Alert, Maintenance Alert, call and music management via a connected smartphone, a navigation system, live tracking, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Suzuki has unveiled some key features of the e Access, including a TFT dashboard with Bluetooth connectivity, a smart key with a lost alert feature, a navigation system, side-stand alert, call and message notifications, and a USB charging port. Similar to the Activa e, the Suzuki electric scooter is equipped with an all-LED lighting system. Since the e Access is still in the showcase phase, the company has not disclosed the number of variants it will offer.

Honda Activa e vs Suzuki e Access: Price and Colour Options

Honda has introduced the Activa e in two variants: the Activa e and the Honda RoadSync Duo. The standard model is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh, while the premium variant costs Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom). The Activa e is available in five striking colours: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.

Suzuki, on the other hand, is yet to launch the e Access. However, it has been confirmed that the scooter will be offered in three colour options: Metallic Mat Black 2, Pearl Grace White, and Pearl Jade Green.

Both the Activa e and the e Access are set to compete with rivals such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ola S1 series, Ather Rizta, and Hero Vida V2.
