Royal Enfield introduced the second-generation Himalayan last year packing some significant updates like an all-new 450 cc liquid-cool engine. It is popular and a capable adventure motorcycle, which is also budget-friendly. Ormotors France decided to transform the current Himalayan 450 into the all-terrain beast with new components, redesigned body panels and went on a serious weight-loss programme to take part in an offroad rally in Portugal. Sadly, this is a one-off Himalayan model, which may never see the light of day in India, but here’s all you need about this modified ADV.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: What’s new?

The thing that will catch your attention is the new LED headlight set which is shaped like a couple of four-leaf clovers. Apart from a tall windshield visor, it gets an offroad beak-shaped front fender and a massive 23-litre fuel tank replacing the standard 17-litre one. The custom Himalayan retains the stock 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel rims, but is now golden in colour. It rides on knobby tyres from Continental. Ormotors continues to use the Showa front forks, but has replaced it with Andreani cartridge. The motorcycle is taller by 30mm increasing the ground clearance to 260mm. The rear mono-shock is replaced by a unit from EMC.

The customized Himalayan 450 is equipped with components from Acerbis and the Royal Enfield rally kit. The new engine guard and the handlebar guards are from Acerbis while the rear fender is an optional kit from Royal Enfield.

To boost performance, the engine has been upgraded with a DNA air filter and a full HP Corse exhaust system. The custom builder also worked on shedding 21 kg from the bike’s weight, making it lighter and more nimble for tackling off-road trails with ease.

Ormotors gave the Himalayan a bold makeover, painting it in classic red and white rally colours. The fuel tank proudly features Acerbis branding alongside the Royal Enfield Himalayan name, giving it a rugged, rally-ready look.
