BMW has teased a sportbike concept across its social media platforms, calling it ‘The Quest for the Speed of Light’. The teaser is a silhouette of a fully-faired motorcycle, which is expected to be unveiled on 23 May. Could this be an updated S1000RR?
As of now, it’s open to speculations as BMW has not revealed any details of the motorcycle. However, looking at the teaser, one can say that it will be a focused sportbike, as it gets full fairings, a muscular tank, and a really stubby tail section.
The motorcycle could also be the updated version of the S1000RR with a few tweaks, as the tank seems a bit flat on the top and the tail section is really short. That said, it could also be a track-focused variant of the S1000RR, in which case it will sport a lot of carbon fibre — fairings to wheels.
The global unveil is set for May 23, and more details will be known. If it is a road-legal sportbike, the motorcycle will be launched in India as well. Recently, BMW updated its 1300cc range which includes the R 1300 RT and the R 1300 R.
