Ather Energy is about to make some grand announcements in the next couple of months. The Bengaluru-based two-wheeler EV startup will organise the next iteration of Ather Community Day in August this year, although the company is yet to reveal the exact date. Last year, this annual event was held in April.
Through a media release, Ather has confirmed that it will unveil its next generation electric scooter platform — codenamed EL — in the coming edition of Community Day in August. Along with the new platform, Ather will also unveil a new set of concept electric two-wheelers, some of them to be based on this new platform.
Ather Community Day 2025: What to expect?
It is widely speculated that Ather will showcase a series of affordable electric scooters in the upcoming Community Day which will help the brand expand its consumer base. At present, Ather is the only major player in the electric two-wheeler market without a model priced below Rs 1 lakh. Rivals like Bajaj, TVS, Ola Electric, Vida (Hero), and Greaves all offer at least one product within that price range. However, Ather’s upcoming EL platform could help bridge this gap.
Besides this new EL platform, Ather is also working on other technologies such as its next-generation of Grid fast chargers, which is claimed to make charging quicker and more convenient. The new Grid fast chargers will also be showcased at the upcoming Ather Community Day. For context, existing Ather Grid chargers can recharge Ather e-scooters at a rate of 1.5 km per minute and Vida e-scooters at 1.2 km per minute, thanks to Vida adopting Ather’s open-sourced charger connector.
Additionally, Ather is set to introduce an upgraded version of its software platform, Ather Stack 7.0, which is expected to bring enhanced features to its lineup. The new software is anticipated to deliver major technological upgrades and enhancements to the brand’s electric scooters.
