Ather Energy has announced that the Rizta electric scooter has crossed the 2 lakh sales mark, doubling its cumulative volumes in just six months. The model reached its first lakh units in May 2025 and now contributes over 70% of Ather’s total sales, making it the company’s fastest-growing product. The family-oriented scooter competes with the TVS iQube and Ola S1 Pro in the Indian market.
Product variants and performance driving demand
The company says that new variants of the Rizta have helped sustain demand. The Terracotta Red colour option and the Rizta S variant with a 3.7 kWh battery have broadened the line-up, while the Rizta S and flagship Rizta Z offer IDC ranges of 123 km and 159 km, respectively. Both variants feature 56 litres of storage and Ather’s SkidControl and Fall Safe systems.
Fuelling geographic expansion and market share gains
Launched in April 2024, the Rizta has been central to Ather’s geographic expansion beyond its southern strongholds. The company recorded sharp market-share gains across Middle and North India, with Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh rising from 7% in Q1 FY26 to 14% in Q3 FY26. Punjab climbed from 8% to 15%, while Uttar Pradesh grew from 4% to 10% over the same period. The scooter is also sold in Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Since the Rizta’s launch, Ather has expanded its retail network to 524 outlets as of September 30, 2025. The company recently crossed cumulative sales of 5 lakh electric scooters, according to Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data.
Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, said the Rizta has expanded the company’s addressable market and supported aggressive distribution growth in Middle and North India. Ather plans to further strengthen product accessibility through deeper retail expansion.
Founded in 2013, Ather Energy manufactures electric two-wheelers and operates India’s largest two-wheeler fast-charging network, with 4,322 chargers globally, according to the company’s official statement.
