Husqvarna kickstarted its second innings in India by launching the heavily updated Vitpilen 250 and the all-new Svartpilen 401. The Swedish brand isn’t planning to stop there as it has multiple models planned for the Indian market. One of them is the new Svartpilen 250, based on the new Vitpilen 250.
2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 homologated
A leaked type approval certificate issued by ARAI, Pune suggests that the company’s next big launch will most likely be the Svartpilen 250. The new quarter-litre Black Arrow, i.e., Svartpilen shares similar dimensions to its Silver Arrow, i.e., Vitpilen counterpart. Although the homologation document suggests that the former to be taller than the latter.
This essentially translates to a taller handlebar in Svartpilen 250 as is the case with the larger Svartpilen 401 which distinguishes the scrambler style motorcycle from the Vitpilen. It must be noted that in its previous avatar, the Vitpilen 250 had a much sportier stance of a cafe racer. However, with the change in proportions in the new-gen model, the Vitpilen is now classified as a roadster.
2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250: Expected specs, features
As far as specs are concerned, the new Svartpilen 250 will share the exact same underpinnings as the new Vitpilen 250. This means it will sit on a new steel trellis frame which is suspended on a non-adjustable 43mm upside down front forks and a rear mono-shock. Stopping duties will be carried out by a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc aided by dual-channel ABS.
In terms of features, it will get the same 5-inch TFT instrument panel that comes equipped with optional Bluetooth connectivity. Other expected features include ride-by-wire, switchable rear ABS, full LED illumination, a type-C charging port and a quickshifter. Going with its scrambler nature, Husqvarna will most likely equip the Svartpilen 250 with wire-spoked rims that are resilient on tough terrains and shod with dual-purpose tyres, most probably Pirelli Scorpions.
