Harley-Davidson Deluxe Softail is set to launch in India tomorrow. The 2018 Deluxe will be the fifth member in Harley-Davidson’s Softail family in the country, which so far had the Street Bob, Fat Bob, Fat Boy and Heritage Classic. Like the others, the Harley-Davidson Deluxe Softail will be powered by a 1746cc Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine that makes 147.7 Nm at 3000 rpm. In terms of styling, the Deluxe Softail will be a classic looking motorcycles, especially with the white-wall tyres. There’s a lot of chrome on components, including the engine, headlamp cluster, exhaust, forks and others.
With seating for just the rider, the 2018 Harley-Davidson Deluxe Softail is a traditional cruiser with a laid-back riding stance. It is, in fact, more retro-looking than the other recent Softail models. The 2018 Deluxe, with its round headlamps with auxiliary lights, wire-spoked wheels with white-walled tyres, offers a more classic appeal.
While the exterior is classic, the 2018 Harley-Davidson Deluxe is modern under the skin. In terms of specs and specifications, the Deluxe is similar to the Fat Boy and Heritage Classic. It comes with Showa Dual Bending Valve (SDBV) forks upfront which has allowed improvement in ride and handling.
Harley-Davidson Deluxe Softail will come equipped with keyless ignition and ABS as standard. Expect the 2018 Deluxe to offer comfort at par with the Fat Bob and Fat Boy, along with delivering on old-school styling. The Deluxe will be positioned between the Fat Boy and Fat Bob in the Softail range and is expected to priced at about Rs 16 lakh.
