Uber has rolled out a suite of features in India aimed at making rides more affordable, accessible, and seamless for millions across 125 cities. With over 1.4 million drivers, India remains one of Uber’s fastest-growing markets, and these updates, driven by rider feedback, reflect the company’s commitment to meeting the diverse needs of Indian commuters. From budget-friendly options to inclusive services for seniors and pet owners, Uber is redefining urban mobility.

Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India & South Asia, emphasised, “We’re meeting commuters where they are, offering value for daily savers and premium comfort for those willing to pay more.” Whether it’s integrating metro ticketing or streamlining airport pickups, Uber’s innovations are set to elevate the everyday travel experience.

Affordable and flexible travel options

Uber’s new features prioritise affordability and choice. The Wait & Save option, piloted in over 10 cities, offers lower fares for riders with flexible schedules who can tolerate slightly longer wait times, contrasting with Go Priority for faster, premium pickups. Starting in December 2025, Price Lock will allow riders to secure fares for frequent routes with a small upfront fee, shielding them from peak-hour surges. Additionally, Uber’s partnership with ONDC enables Metro Ticketing, live in Delhi and expanding to Chennai and Mumbai, letting users book metro tickets directly in the app for a seamless multimodal journey. These features cater to cost-conscious commuters while enhancing convenience, making Uber a go-to for daily travel.

Premium experiences for all

Uber is also breaking barriers with inclusive and elevated services. Launching in July 2025, Uber for Seniors offers a simplified app with larger buttons, fewer booking steps, and family-shared trip tracking, empowering older adults to travel independently. Courier XL, now live in Delhi NCR and Mumbai, upgrades parcel delivery to 750 kg, handling everything from furniture to bulk goods. For pet owners, Uber Pet, available in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, ensures stress-free, pet-friendly rides on reserve-only trips. Meanwhile, Airport Priority Access, already in Pune and Hyderabad, will soon streamline pickups at Mumbai and Noida airports, and Uber XL Plus in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad guarantees spacious vehicles like the Toyota Innova. These thoughtful additions reflect Uber’s mission to adapt to India’s evolving mobility needs, delivering value, comfort, and inclusivity.
