Royal Enfield launches 61st Cavalry Edition jerseys

The Cavalry’s legendary service record and stellar contribution to the highly demanding sport of Polo has led to the latest partnership with Royal Enfield.

Royal Enfield has collaborated with the 61st Cavalry Regiment of the Indian Army to create a unique limited edition of apparel. The 61st Cavalry Regiment has long symbolised strength, valour, tradition and equine prowess. Notably, it is one of the world’s last operational non-mechanized cavalry units.

India is said to be the birthplace of modern Polo – the sport traces its origins back to Manipur, and it is still thriving in its traditional strongholds of Jaipur and Jodhpur. Keeping this unique heritage alive and serving as a link between the past and present, the 61st Cavalry Regiment has gallantly charged through the decades, nurturing and producing some of India’s finest Polo players.

As part of this collaboration, Royal Enfield will support the 61st Cavalry Polo team at Polo tournaments worldwide, helping to showcase this acclaimed regiment and promote this iconic sport amongst a wider audience.

As part of this collaboration, Royal Enfield has also released an exclusive collection of limited edition 61st Cavalry x Royal Enfield polo jerseys, a collectable tribute to the cavalry’s dedicated service across battlefields and, more recently, winning performances on Polo fields.

This latest addition to the Royal Enfield Apparel catalogue features elements such as the Cavalry’s regimental colours, their traditional sash and shoulder patches. This collection also exemplifies the inimitable fusion of legacy and modernity that is synonymous with Royal Enfield.

Speaking about the collaboration, Mohit Dhar Jayal, Chief Brand Officer, commented- “Royal Enfield has been proudly associated with the Indian Armed Forces since 1952, which marked the initiation of our motorcycle supply to the Indian Army. This polo-inspired collection will be available in two colours, featuring the Royal Enfield logo and the 61st Cavalry regimental crest in golden embroidery. These jerseys, numbered 1, are part of a limited edition and will be followed by another special edition later in the year.
