The Nissan Sunny measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, 1515 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The minimum turning radius of the sedan is 5.3 metres and the fuel tank capacity is is 41 litres for both, petrol and diesel variants. Higher variants are also offered with 15 inch alloy wheels, while the lower versions have 14 inch steel rims. The Nissan Sunny is being offered in six colours, Nightshade, Pearl White, Deep Grey, Onyx Black, Bronze Grey and Blade Silver.
The Nissan Sunny features chrome inserts in the door panels and dashboard and the higher variants are also offered with steering mounted audio and phone controls. All variants of the Nissan Sunny have air conditioning front power windows, tilt as well as electric power steering and day/night IRVM (Interior Rear View Mirror. The front doors have bottle holders along with pockets for maps and notebooks. The top-end variant comprises of leather seats as well as leather covered gear knob.
The Nissan Sunny comes with a 1,498 cc petrol engine and a 1,461 cc diesel engine. The petrol motor produces 97 hp at 6,000 rpm along with 134 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm for the manual variants. The automatic petrol variant has more power of 99 hp at 5,600 rpm. The diesel engine produces 83 hp of power at 3,750 rpm along with 200 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.
The Nissan Sunny comes with a five speed manual transmission and an advanced Xtronic CVT based transmission. While the manual transmission is offered for both engine options, the CVT (Continously Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox is offered only with the petrol engine powered variants.
In terms of safety, the Nissan Sunny comes with Anti lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), driver and passenger side and front impact beams, speed sensing automatic door locks and hazard warning switch.
The Nissan Sunny has an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 16.95 kmpl in manual petrol variants and 17.97 kmpl for automatic petrol variants. The diesel variant has a claimed mileage of 22.71 kmpl which impressive for its segment.
