The Micra hatchback offered by Nissan in India measures 3,825 mm in length, 1,665 in widt, 1,530 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. For the diesel variants, all dimensions are the same except the height which is 5 mm lesser than the aforementioned figure. All versions of the Nissan Micra have an LED tail lamp, body coloured bumpers, door mirrors and door handles. The top end variant is offered with alloy wheels while the lower versions have a steel rim with full wheel cover.
The Nissan Micra comes with a power steering with tilt function, tachometer, power windows on all doors, 2-DIN audio system with steering mounted audio as well as phone controls and air conditioning. While the lower variants have a manual air conditioning unit, the top end Nissan Micra is offered with automatic climate control along with rear demister, push button start, keyless entry, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) as well as height adjustable driver’s seat.
The Nissan Micra comes with a 1,198 cc petrol engine and a 1,461 cc diesel engine. The petrol motor produces 73 hp at 5,000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The diesel engine produces 61 hp at 4,000 rpm along with160 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. The engines have been tuned for the best balance between performance and mileage.
The Nissan Micra comes with a five speed manual transmission and an advanced CVT based transmission. While the manual gearbox is offered for both engine options, the CVT (Continously Variable Transmission) is limited to the petrol engine.
In terms of safety, the Nissan Micra comes with Anti lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), driver and passenger side and front impact beams, speed sensing automatic door locks, dual front airbags and hazard warning switch. The new model also gets a passenger airbag for added safety. Besides, rear parking sensors and rear parking camera are other add ons.
The Nissan Micra Petrol has an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 15.5 kmpl in city along with 18.5 kmpl on the highway for the manual variants and 16.5 kmpl in city and 19.5 kmpl on the highway for the CVT petrol versions. On the other hand, the diesel trims deliver 18.5 kmpl in the city and of 23.25 kmpl on the highway. These efficiency figures are comparable in its segment.
