The Mini Countryman is the first car to be launched by the BMW Group after the acquisition. Instead of a performance hatchback, the Countryman models are performance crossovers with better rear seat space.     The Mini Countryman is offered in eight colour options, Blazing Red, Royal Grey, Absolute Black, Crystal Silver, Cosmic Blue, Jungle Green, Starlight Blue and Midnight Grey. In addition to the variety of colour options, the Countryman also has blackened out pillars and a contrasting roof colour for a floating roof effect. Alloy wheels, electrically adjustable as well as foldable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), projector headlamps and LED tail lamps are standard across the model range.

    Like all other Mini cars, the Countryman follows a retro modern design language and has rotary knobs for operation of all equipments. The car is offered with a specially designed sound system by Alpine which is wired to the infotainment system. This infotainment system also supports Bluetooth connectivity and has steering mounted audio and phone controls. All Mini cars are offered with cruise control, automatic climate control and other comfort features as standard.

    The Mini Countryman is powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine that 183 hp of power 5,500 rpm and 260 Nm of torque from 1,600 rpm to 5,500 rpm. The top speed of the Mini Countryman is 210 kmph and the zero to 100 kmph figure is achieved in 7.6 seconds.

    The Mini Countryman is offered with a 6 speed automatic transmission which is paired with the 1.6 litre petrol engine. Power is sent to the front wheel, however, there is an optional all wheel drive system also available.
