As the competitors finish the second leg of the 48-hour Chrono stage, some say they wouldn’t do it again for a million dollars. The stage was won by Adrien Van Beveren in the motorcycle category, while nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb won in the cars category.
The 549km two-day stage proved to be the toughest yet, as it saw prominent names, including the defending champion, Nasser Al-Attiyah give up hopes of winning this year after facing mechanical issues and losing time. Even Hero saw one of its top riders, Joan Barreda drop out after facing technical issues.
In the motorcycle category, following the French rider was Toby Price on his KTM, followed by another Honda, Ricky Brabec. In the overall standings, Brabec leads, with Hero rider Ross Branch in second, followed by yet another Honda, Van Beveren.

Another noteworthy mention here is Harith Noah, the only Indian in this Dakar, currently stands 13th overall, after being consistent so far. In his class, the Rally 2 category, Noah stands third overall.
Moving to the cars, it was Loeb’s second stage victory this year in his Hunter. However, the Hunter is being hunted by Team Audi, with Sainz Sr and Ekstrom being right on his tail, making up the top three. In the overall ranking, the Hunter is on the hunt, chasing down Sainz and Ekstrom, who stand 29 minutes ahead of Loeb.
