Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has finally been launched in India today with prices starting at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The e-scooter has registered the Pune-based manufacturer's entry in the EV space. The Chetak will be sold in India through the online route and deliveries for the same will begin starting next month. Bajaj Chetak electric scooter comes in two variants namely Urbane and Premium. While the Urbane can be yours for a price of Rs 1 lakh, the Premium that gets an additional front disc brake can be yours for Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Urbane will be available in two colours while the Premium gets four.

Bajaj Chetak electric gets a 3 KwH lithium-ion battery pack that is IP67 rated. When it comes to charging, the e-scooter gets an in-built charger and can be charged normally by plugging into a regular 5-ampere power outlet. A full charge takes five hours while in one hour, the battery charges to 25 percent.

The instrument cluster on the Bajaj Chetak is a fully digital unit with an interesting layout. The scooter gets a dedicated mobile application as well that lets you keep a track on vehicle statistics, track and locate your vehicle and more. The Chetak app is available for both Android and iOS platforms.

Bajaj offers a warranty of 3 years/50,000 km with the Chetak electric scooter. The first service for the scooter needs to be done after 1,000 km. After this, the service interval is 12,000 km or once a year, whichever comes earlier. For now, the e-scooter will be available in 4 dealerships in Pune and 13 outlets in Bengaluru.Â

Bajaj Chetak electric runs with the help of a 4 kW electric motor and comes with two riding modes namely Eco and Sport. In the Eco mode, you get a maximum claimed range of 95 km while Sport mode offers 85 km of range on a single charge.

In terms of aesthetics, Bajaj Chetak gets an all-LED headlamp with LED DRLs. The overall styling shouts out loud the old-school appeal and the scooter looks quite appealing with a curvaceous body. In fact, from some angles, it actually resembles a lot with some of the Vespa scooters.
