Mercedes-Benz India has launched India's first BS-VI compliant car in its new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The company calls its luxurious sedan as 'world's best car' and the new version of its undoubtedly the most technological advanced S-Class ever built. The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is available in both petrol and diesel version and the price of the sedan starts at Rs 1.33 crore and goes up to Rs 1.37 crore (Ex-Showroom).

The dashboard gets a similar layout to its predecessor and is neatly laid out with the use of premium materials including top-notch wood and carbon fibre. At the centre of the dash lies the 12.3-inch infotainment system that supports voice command, Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The new S-Class supports wireless charging, 360 degree camera with sensors and park-assist. The new S-Class comes with Burmester surround sound system with 13 speakers, a 9-channel DSP amplifier and a total output of 590 W.

Apart from the rear seat infotainment, you also get massage seats that can incline to up to 43.5 degrees and makes the cab very spacious. Rear seat can control the whole infotainment system ad new airmatic suspension promises a comfortable drive.

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced ‘Air-Balance’ package on the new S-Class that allows personalised fragrance. The new S-Class offers a choice of six interior fragrances according to personal preference. In addition, the air quality can be improved by ionization and optimized filtering of the incoming and recirculating air.The ambience lighting gets a choice of 64 colours on the new S-Class.

The rear of Mercedes-Benz S-Class gets crystal formed LED taillights and gives it a fresh look. It gets body coloured rear sensors along with a generous boot capacity. The overall dimensions of the new S-Class has not changed drastically and the sedan remains one of the longest car in its segment.

Bharat Stage 6 or BS-VI standards are Euro 6 equivalent emission norms and have substantial changes over existing Bharat Stage IV emission standards. Of particular note is the tightening of Particulate Matter (PM) and NOx mass emission limits. In a BS VI vehicle, the NOx limit reduction is up to 68 per cent and PM limit reduction is achieved at 82 per cent, compared with BS IV. 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class diesel, S 350 d is powered by the OM 656 engine and claims to be the most powerful passenger car diesel engine designed by Mercedes-Benz India. The inline-six cylinder motor delivers a power output of 286 hp and 600 Nm of torque.
