Switzerland-based VTR Customs is a dedicated customiser of BMW motorcycles so surely they're used to working on high-end German-built motorcycles. And now they've modified the smallest ADV BMW Motorrad has – the BMW G310 GS. Why though? Shop boss Dani Weidman tells Bikeexif: For fun.

BMW Motorrad may not register mass-market like sales numbers in India for its premium bikes, but in Switzerland those are sold a lot with all the optional extras as well. So obviously, the baby GS has a hard time in that country. VTR stepped in to boost its popularity. And it's a job done rather brilliantly.

Dani says the concept for 'Little Boy's Toy' came quickly – bringing together scrambler cues, peppy colours, giving it an urban vibe while retaining the GS appeal as well. The team's newest apprentice Nico was yet to demonstrate what he could do with custom project and this was a perfect opportunity.

All of the BMW G310 GS's original bodywork was stripped, keeoing just the fuel tank covers. VTR has standards set high and Dani says "good looking is not enough. We need high quality, robust and a heavy-duty finish, because it must last forever, like a Swiss watch." For the front, the team gave it a hand-built number board, a short alloy fender, and a classic headlamp – all of it on a custom bracket.

Freuler in Benken was contacted for the paint job which is a baby blue and red. Rear shock gets black paint, and the frame and engine were coated in the same bronze as on the new BMW S1000 RR. Original tyres were replaced with TKC80s for better off-road capability.

The exhaust has been replaced too with a fully open header and a short can, which isn't legal but VTR set aside a homologated Akrapovic system should they sell the Little Boy's Toy. And turns out, they did on the second day of Geneva Motor Show to an ex-pro windsurfer. Must say, the personality of te motorcycle should go well with that of a windsurfer.
