Royal Enfield has finally launched its flagship cruiser motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650, in India at a starting price of Rs 3.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings for the same are now officially open and the deliveries will begin in February 2023.

The Super Meteor 650 is a true-blue cruiser that has quite a colossus road presence and a laid-back riding stance, thanks to the foot pegs pushed up in front. The iconic brand has beautifully blended the company’s legacy, cruiser traits and practicality.

Royal Enfield is offering the Super Meteor 650 in two trims and three colourways which is further divided into seven colour variants. They are Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Gray, Interstellar Green, Celestial Red and Celestial Blue.

Powering the RE Super Meteor 650 is a 650cc parallel-twin, air & oil-cooled motor that develops 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This is the same motor that does its duty in the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 as well.Â

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 gets 43mm USD front forks and a mono-shock absorber at the rear. For braking duties, the motorcycle sports disc brakes at either end with dual-channel ABS as standard.

In terms of features, the Super Meteor 650 gets an all-LED headlamp – a first for any RE motorcycle. It also gets a twin-pod instrument cluster, including its tech-laden Tripper navigation system that first made its debut on the Meteor 350.

According to Royal Enfield, the Super Meteor 650 is a cruiser in a dynamic form. With a wheelbase of 1,500mm and 2,260mm in length, this easy rider is the longest bike in RE’s portfolio. In hindsight, it weighs 241 kg making it 39 kg heavier than the Interceptor 650.

The prices of the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 start at Rs 3.49 lakh and they go up to Rs 3.79 lakh, ex-showroom. It’s the most expensive motorcycle in the company’s portfolio.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 doesn’t have any direct rivals in India. Indirectly, it will take on the likes of the Benelli 502C, Kawasaki Vulcan S, etc.
