The very British and very powerful Hesketh Valiant SC was unveiled last month at the Carlole Nash MCN London Show. The Valiant SC is a 2100cc monster, and to add to that the 'SC' stands for supercharged. The name of the motorcycle was inspired by a cold war bomber, the Vickers-Armstrong Valiant, used by the Royal Air Force in the 1950s.
-
The name Hesketh might ring a bell to some Formula One fans. Lord Hesketh's team competed in championships from 1972 until 1978. James Hunt was responsible for registering the team's first and only victory in 1975 while driving a Hesketh 308 against Nicky Lauda's Ferrari.
-
The Valiant SC is the biggest production v-twin in the world. The 2100cc engine produces 210 hp and 294 Nm of torque. Hesketh also have plans to further tune the engine to bring the power figure up to 250 hp later this year.
-
Majority of the parts on the motorcycle have been manufactured in the UK. For suspension, it has been fitted with K-tech and the firm's Razor rear shock. For braking, the Vailant SC has Pretech with a set of billet 12-piston calipers up front and a Beringer four-potter on the rear.
-
The Valiant SC is the first motorcycle from the manufacturer to carry the 'H' logo, which is the company's engineering and development department's trademark.
-
The motorcycle will be available at showrooms in the UK beginning summer of 2018, with a hefty price tag of GBP 50000 or Rs 40.87 lakh.
