The 2017 Ford Ecosport facelift was first unveiled at the 2016 LA Motor Show and almost a year later Ford India is ready to debut the facelift of Ecosport in the Indian market. The Ecosport will continue to be manufactured at Ford India's plant in Chennai and hosts number of changes including the new 1.5L diesel engine that was recently showcased by the company. The top-variants of new Ford Ecosport will feature host of number of exterior and interior changes and will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V and Tata Nexon.

The 2017 Ford Ecosport gets major upgrades to its design especially to its face. The SUV now get wide and more prominent front hexagonal grille and a larger headlamp cluster with projector headlamps and LED DRLs. The front bumper is also new and the round fog lamps are now replaced by large looking foglamps.

The rear of the new 2017 Ford Ecosport has also been reworked and it gets newly designed tail-lights. The India spec version of new Ford Ecosport will continue to have the spare wheel at the rear and it will also feature a new spare wheel cover along with new roof rails.

Interiors of 2017 Ford Ecosport is completely new and the button heavy dashboard is now replaced by the 8-inch infotainment system (on top-variants). The new system supports the Ford's famous SYNC 3 technology and also Apple Car Play and Google Android Auto. The interiors are finished in all-black on the India spec 2017 Ford Ecosport.

New Ford Ecosport will get the all-new petrol engine is a part of Ford’s new family of engines called the Dragon Family. The 1.5-litre Ti-VCT three-cylinder petrol earmarked for India, that will share its spec sheet with the global engine. The three-cylinder engine will be naturally aspirated, apparently setting aside Ford’s previous entanglement with smaller turbocharged engines. At least temporarily. Ford Ti-VCT technology, allows the intake and exhaust cam to function independently of each other in varying conditions. The result is faster throttle response and better fuel efficiency. Ford Ecosport will continue to come with 1.5L diesel engine, but the 1.0L Ecoboost engine will no longer be available on the new Ecosport.
