Kia has a couple of interesting launches lined up for India in the coming days, which include the all-new Carnival and the all-electric EV9. The former was already sold here while the EV9 is new to the market and will be the South Korean carmaker’s second EV offering after the EV6.
That said, the Kia EV9’s specifications for India have been revealed and the details look interesting. Here’s more in the upcoming Kia EV9.
Kia EV9 specifications
The EV9 is a large vehicle and needs no detailing about it. The vehicle will have a wheelbase of 3,100mm, while its length measures 5,015mm, 1,980mm in width, and will stand 1,780mm tall. Kia has not mentioned its ground clearance, and we can say it will be sufficient for Indian conditions.
Moving on to the battery specifications, the EV9 will be powered by a 99.8kWh battery pack that develops 379bhp and 700Nm of peak torque, while the power will be sent to all four wheels. Kia claims a 0-100kmph acceleration in 5.3 seconds.
In terms of range, the EV9 had an ARAI-certified range of 561km, while its battery can be juiced up from 10-80 percent in 24 minutes via a DC fast charger. Kia has not mentioned any other details regarding the charging, but 24 minutes to charge to 80 percent and a real-world range of approximately 450km is interesting.
