A total of 3,72,178 passenger vehicles were sold across the country in February 2024. During the same month last year, this figure stood at 3,34,245 units. This has resulted in a YoY growth of 11.3%. However, with 3,93,471 cars sold in January this year, sales have declined by 5.4% MoM.

Maruti WagonR
WagonR continued its streak of being the best-selling model in the passenger vehicle segment for the past few months by recording a monthly volume of 19,412 units in February 2024. During the same month last year, Maruti sold 16,889 which led to a YoY growth of 15% last month. WaginR has been a consistent seller for Maruti Suzuki ever since made its debut at the fag end of the 20th century. WagonR is priced between Rs 5.55 lakh and Rs 7.38 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Punch
Tata Motors dispatched 18,438 units of Punch in February this year, across the country. The micro SUV recorded a massive YoY growth of 65% and a marginal MoM growth of 2.55%. This significant YoY growth in Punch sales is attributed to the all-electric Punch.ev launched earlier this year.

Maruti Baleno
Maruti Baleno took the third spot with an overall monthly sales volume of 17,517 units in February this year. During the same month last year, Maruti sold 18,592 units of the premium hatchback last year which resulted in a YoY drop of 6% last month. MoM drop was registered at -10.76%. Baleno is priced between Rs 6.66 lakh and Rs 9.38 lakh (both ex-showroom).

Maruti Dzire
Maruti Dzire took the fourth spot with a total of 15,837 units sold in February this year. This resulted in a 6% YoY and MoM decline. In the coming months, both Dzire and its hatchback sibling Swift are expected to receive a massive upgrade. Currently, the Dzire is priced between Rs 6.56 lakhs and Rs 9.39 lakhs (both ex-showroom).

Maruti Brezza
Brezza occupied the fifth spot by registering a total volume of 15,765 units in February this year. Sales for the subcompact SUV remained stagnant both for YoY and MoM. It is available in petrol as well as CNG drivetrains. At present, Brezza can be had at prices ranging between Rs 8.34 lakh and Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
