As per a report by Autocar India, Hyundai is working on the next-gen Creta, expected to make its debut in 2027. The current second-gen Creta was launched last year and this year, the electric version was launched. However, Hyundai is already working on the new Creta, which will be made in the carmaker’s Chennai plant.

The third-generation Hyundai Creta is likely to use the same powertrains — a 113bhp 1.5-litre diesel, a 113bhp 1.5-litre petrol, and the 158bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol units. Gearbox options will most likely include a manual and an automatic.

Again, going by what Autocar India reports, the Creta could also see a hybrid version, making it Hyundai’s first hybrid offering in India. The engine is likely to use the same 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to a hybrid system and sit at the top of the Creta range.

Other changes expected will be a radical evolution in design, as how all the Cretas before were, while the list of features could be longer than the current-generation crossover. Safety features will also an update on the new Creta coming in 2027. The Hyundai Creta Electric, which was launched earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Expo is also expected to see a mild facelift next year, along with other updates, including the list of features.
