Tata Motors has officially brought back its iconic Sierra in an all-new avatar and while the spec sheet is highly impressive, what’s gathering the most attention is its aggressive pricing. The 2025 Tata Sierra starts at an introductory price of Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it quite tempting for those looking to get into the mid-range SUV segment and need a cool new alternative to the Hyundai Creta.

Since the starting price has gathered a lot of headlines, many potential buyers are interested in the base Smart+ variant, which is currently priced at Rs 11.49 lakh ex-showroom. As expected, the base variant will lose out on most of the bells and whistles that Tata Motors has been showing in the advertisement videos and press releases. However, the engineers at Tata Motors have figured out ways to offer enough modern amenities while ensuring the value-for-money proposition with the Sierra.

Hence, if you have been planning to upgrade to a mid-size SUV without spending a fortune on the vehicle, and the Sierra ends up being your fancy, this is what you need to know about it prior to making the changes.

Tata Sierra Smart+ variant: What it offers to buyers

Despite being the introductory model, the Sierra Smart+ variant is remarkably well-equipped, particularly on the safety and exterior fronts.

Safety standards: Six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Hold function, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with 20 safety functions, and Hill Ascent Control.

Exterior highlights: Flush-fitting door handles, Bi-LED projector headlamps, Light Saber LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) and LED tail lamps, and 17-inch steel wheels.

Convenience and tech: Push-button engine start/stop with Passive Entry (PEPS), Electrically adjustable ORVMs, a 4-inch digital cockpit for the driver, rear AC vents, and dual front USB charging ports (Type-A and 45W Type-C).

Engine and gearbox: The base Smart+ model is available with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated Revotron petrol engine (106 hp/145 Nm) or the 1.5-litre Kryotec turbo-diesel unit (118 hp/260 Nm), both paired with a manual transmission.

– No Cruise control, automatic climate control (it features manual AC), and auto-folding side mirrors.

– No Alloy wheels (it gets steel wheels).
