The Tata Sierra is making a comeback, and this time Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle division is prepared to take on strong competition from both international and domestic automakers. Pitched as a rival to the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the Sierra tries to give a dose of nostalgia while offering the cutting-edge technology and next-gen engineering in the world of SUVs. Tata is ready to launch the Sierra today and for the first round, it is coming with Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) options. An EV version will follow, utilising the company’s dedicated acti.ev platform.
About Tata Sierra 2025:
Positioned as a mid-size lifestyle SUV, the Sierra retains the iconic, upright silhouette of the original 1990s model, featuring a reimagined ‘Alpine window’ design with a blacked-out C-pillar and a panoramic sunroof, all while incorporating modern elements like connected LED light bars and flush door handles. On the inside, you find a triple-screen dashboard setup with a 12-speaker JBL audio system and an integrated soundbar. Other tech features include Level 2 ADAS, a 36–degree camera, dual-zone climate control and ventilated front seats.
Tata Sierra 2025 engine:
Under the hood, the fossil fuelled Sierra is set to introduce Tata’s all-new 1.5-litre TGDi turbocharged petrol engine expected to deliver around 170 PS of peak power. A diesel option, likely a 1.5-litre unit, will also be offered, with both manual and automatic transmission choices.
