It would be an understatement to say that the Tata Harrier EV is one of the most anticipated vehicles in the Indian automobile industry. There have been several spy images of the upcoming EV SUV, but the latest set of photos shows it without any camouflage cladding. The vehicle was spotted on the Mumbai-Pune highway and will compete against the Mahindra XEV 9e. This is the first time the Harrier EV is fully revealed without any claddings ahead of its official launch on June 3. The images were posted by Tesla Club India on social media.
Tata Harrier EV: Exteriors
The Harrier EV was showcased by Tata Motors at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. Even though it may look similar to its internal combustion engine sibling, the Harrier EV is based on acti.ev Gen 2 EV architecture. This born electric SUV has body coloured front grille, which is enclosed like other EVs. It retains the split headlight design and LED sequential indicators DRLs may be connected with a silver finish grille, redesigned bumpers, skid plates and alloy wheels. The Harrier EV has a charging port on the right side.
Tata Harrier EV: Features
The cabin of the Harrier EV will be like the ICE version. It’s expected to be equipped with a 12.3-linch infotainment system, 10-speaker JBL sound system, 10.25-inch instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, electrically powered driver’s and front passenger seats, dual-zone climate control and panoramic sunroof. The Harrier EV will get additional goodies like vehicle2-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle2-load (V2L). In terms of safety, the Harrier EV will come with a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Tata Harrier EV: Specifications
Tata Motors has not confirmed the battery pack but it is expected to be 60 – 70 kWh capacity with a torque output of around 500 Nm. The Harrier EV is going to be the first Tata EV to be equipped with an all-wheel-drive system, which the company calls Quad Wheel Drive (QWD).
