Many celebrities have been vocal about sustainability in the recent past and, hence, some of them endorse the adoption of electric vehicles (EV). However, only a few of them walk the talk and Suniel Shetty is one of them. The veteran actor added his first electric car to his garage in the form of MG Comet EV.
Suniel Shetty buys MG Comet EV
The battery-powered tallboy hatch was launched in the country earlier this year and it is the second EV from MG in India after the ZS EV. It is available in three variants namely Pace, Play, and Plush with prices ranging between Rs 7.98 lakh and Rs 10.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
The actor shared a photo of his new possession on his social media account while posing in front of it. The post carried a caption which read ‘My first EV “The MG Comet”… love it!’. The Hera Pheri actor has opted for the top-spec Plush variant wrapped in a Starry Black shade.
MG Comet EV specs & features
In terms of specs, Comet EV comes equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack which claims a range of up to 230 km on a single charge. The battery feeds energy to an electric motor mounted on the rear axle which produces 41 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. It takes up to seven hours to charge with a 3.3kW charger.
Features offered in the micro hatch include LED headlights and taillights, a dual 10.25-inch integrated digital screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation, keyless entry, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and over 55 connected car features. Safety package includes features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a reverse parking camera, and rear parking sensors.
Apart from this, Suniel Shetty is known to be an automobile aficionado with an expansive car collection comprising Mercedes Benz GLS 350D, Hummer H2, BMW X5, and Land Rover Defender 110 to name a few.
