Skoda has finally launched the Monte Carlo edition of Slavia with prices starting at Rs 15.79 lakh and going up to Rs 18.49 lakh (both ex-showroom). The Czech brand marked its 112th anniversary of its debut at Rallye Monte Carlo. Born out of Skoda’s motorsport heritage, the Monte Carlo edition of Slavia gets sportier enhancements over the standard model both outside and inside.
Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo: What’s new?
For starters, the Slavia Monte Carlo is available in two dual-tone colour options: Tornado Red and Candy White with a Deep Black roof. As mentioned previously, the changes in the Monte Carlo edition are purely cosmetic. At the exterior, it gets blacked-out highlights such as the front radiator grille, gloss black ORMVs, 16-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, roof, rear bumper diffuser, and garnishes on the front bumper lip, fog lamp, and door sills.
A boot lid spoiler with a piano black finish accentuates the sedan’s sporty profile. Further, Monte Carlo badgings on the side fenders lend exclusivity to the car. To round it off, the LED taillamps have been given a smoky treatment which goes well with the overall blacked-out treatment.
Inside, the all-black cabin is spruced with red highlights which complement its sporty exterior. For instance, red accents on the dashboard, seat upholstery, and red stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel and door trims provide a nice sporty contrast to the cabin. Other notable changes include Monte Carlo scuff plates, and aluminium pedals.
Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo: Features & Specs
There is no change in the functionality of the Slavia Monte Carlo with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully-digital instrument console, auto climate control, paddle shifts for AT variants, and electric sunroof on offer. In terms of safety, it comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitor, and traction control.
The Slavia Monte Carlo is available with two turbocharged petrol engine options— a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TSI. The former kicks out 114 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque while being mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre unit pumps out 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque while being exclusively linked with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox in the Monte Carlo trim.
