Reckless Greater Noida stunts go viral: Youths fined Rs 1.21 lakh

Youths were involved in reckless driving, including speeding, zigzagging, and passengers hanging out of windows while waving sticks. Traffic Police identified the vehicles and issued fines under multiple Motor Vehicles Act.

Here’s another alarming case of reckless driving, where three cars were caught performing dangerous stunts that could have had fatal consequences. The incident occurred in Greater Noida, and a 15-second video posted on X (formerly Twitter) sparked outrage among netizens. According to the Times of India, the Traffic Police have imposed hefty fines on the youths involved for dangerous driving and speeding. Authorities have confirmed that the matter is under further investigation.

High-risk Greater Noida car stunts caught on camera

The reckless car stunt unfolded outside GL Bajaj College in Greater Noida, where three cars were seen dangerously zigzagging at high speeds with passengers perched on window sills. The vehicles accelerated rapidly before abruptly braking, creating a hazardous scene. The viral video shows two individuals hanging out of the windows, with one driver even opening the door mid-drive to pose for the camera. In another shocking moment, a youth is seen waving a stick while sitting on the window edge. Meanwhile, the driver of a Maruti Suzuki Brezza attempted to drift the car, all while someone remained precariously seated on the window.

Rs 1.21 lakh challan for 15 seconds of fame 

According to a report by the Times of India, Noida Traffic Police tracked down the cars by scanning their registration numbers. The total challan issue is Rs 1.21 lakh, including Rs 63,500 for one vehicle and Rs 57,500 for the other. The traffic fines include Motor Vehicles Act Section 184 for dangerous driving, Section 189 speeding, Section 179 disobedience and obstruction and Section 194B seatbelt violation.  

Responding to the viral stunt video, Traffic DCP Lakhan Yadav confirmed that a probe is underway. “We’ve reviewed the footage and are tracing the vehicles involved. Strict action, including hefty fines and legal proceedings, will be taken,” he stated, emphasising that traffic violations will not be tolerated.  

The DCP urged residents to adhere to traffic rules and encouraged citizens to report such incidents. Meanwhile, netizens reacted strongly to the viral video, with many demanding that the offenders not only be fined but also have their driving licenses permanently revoked.
