Porsche has issued a recall for every single unit of the Taycan manufactured and sold globally since 2020. Porsche, however, says that only 1 percent of the Taycans sold are affected, and the cars are safe to drive. The carmaker says that the brake hose can develop a leak and the cars that are affected will have a warning light on the dash.
Porsche Taycan recall
Porsche says that the issue is with the front brake hose, which can develop cracks, leading to a brake fluid leak, which can reduce the pressure on the brakes, thus affecting the braking performance of the Taycan.
The carmaker says that if the car develops the issue, a warning light will appear on the dash and if so, the Taycan should be driven straight to a dealership. However, if a red light appears, Porsche says the car should not be driven at all, while if there is no light on the dash, the car is safe to drive.
The Porsche Taycan was launched in 2020 and also saw an update recently. The Porsche Taycan uses a 93.4 kWh battery pack that develops 625bhp and 1050Nm of torque with the top-spec Turbo S variant. The car can accelerate from o to 100kmph in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 260kmph.
