Nissan Magnite new features, interiors teased ahead of launch

Bookings for the updated Nissan Magnite are currently underway for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

Nissan is gearing up to launch the Magnite facelift later this week on October 4. This will be the first major update to the Magnite ever since it was launched in December 2020. Bookings for the facelifted Magnite have already commenced while deliveries are slated to begin October 5 onwards.

The Japanese carmaker is aggressively promoting the upcoming iteration of the Magnite on its social media handles. While Nissan has already teased a few exterior highlights of the crossover, the company has now teased the interiors of the updated Magnite. The teaser image suggests a similar dashboard layout to the existing model but the interior theme has been revised.

The all-black cabin has now given way to a dual-tone theme with black and tan brown colours used. Nissan has retained soft touch materials on the dashboard and door trims but in a brown shade. The dual-tone seat upholstery and pattern is slightly different from the ones seen in the current model. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen is exactly the same as the existing one. 

Another teaser released by Nissan on social media highlights the inclusion of a new air purifier which claims to reduce 400 AQI to 30 AQI in 20 minutes. Nissan also claims  20 first-in-segment and 55+ active and passive safety features, although we are yet to ascertain the complete list of equipment. Some of the features expected are a single-pane sunroof, auto climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, TFT instrument cluster, push button start/stop, rain-sensing wipers, 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, etc.

Nissan Magnite facelift: Expected powertrain

On the powertrain front, the updated Magnite will retain the current engine options including a naturally aspirated 1-litre petrol unit and a turbocharged 1-litre petrol mill that makes 99 bhp and 160 Nm of torque. The former produces 71 bhp and 96 NM of peak torque while the latter kicks out 99 bhp and 160 Nm (152 Nm in AT) of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT, and a CVT.
