Kia’s new Sonet has achieved the 1 lakh sales mark in 11 months after its launch in January 2024. Starting with a price of Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), it averages nearly 10,000 sales per month.
Kia stated that the new Sonet offers a lineup of 22 variants with six powertrain options. Around 76% of customers prefer gasoline engines, while 24% choose the 1.5L diesel powered version. Automatic and intelligent manual transmissions make up 34% of total sales, highlighting the increasing demand for automatics. Also, 79% of sales come from variants with sunroofs.
Speaking on the milestone, Hardeep Singh Brar, Sr. VP and Head of Sales and Marketing said, “When we introduced the New Sonet, it came with several best in segment features, premiumizing the segment. These features have significantly enhanced the value proposition of the New Sonet, contributing to strong sales performance. “
Kia Sonet: Powertain
The 5-seater SUV, Kia Sonet, with automatic transmission, is powered by a 1.5l CRDi VGT engine that has a displacement of 1493 cc and gives 114 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm.
Kia Sonet: Features and Colours
The new Kia Sonet comes with 15 standard safety features, 10 ADAS Level1 features and more than 70 connected car features. The new Sonet also offers the lowest maintenance cost in its segment, being 16% lower for petrol variants and 14% lower for diesel variants.
It is available in five interior colour options and eight monotone, two dual tone and one matte finish exterior colours.
