Mercedes-Benz H1 sales up 9%, SUVs account for majority

For Mercedes-Benz, SUV sales were popular, accounting for 55 percent of overall sales during H1.

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has reported its highest sales during the first half of 2024 and its Q2 sales in India, having sold 9,262 units during the January to June period, registering a 9 percent YoY growth.

Mercedes says, “The highest-ever six-monthly sales performance was driven by new and existing products, availability of volume models and an elevated customer experience delivered at the retail level. There was sustained demand for Mercedes-Benz vehicles across entry, core and Top-End Vehicle segments.”

For Mercedes-Benz, SUV sales were popular, accounting for 55 percent of overall sales during H1, which consists of the GLA, GLC, GLE and GLS models. Mercedes-Benz also witnessed robust demand for its Top-End Vehicles (TEV) portfolio with the Maybach range growing the highest at 108% in H1 2024.

Mercedes-Benz’s BEV portfolio continued to gain traction, growing 60 percent YoY in the first half of 2024, with a penetration of 5 percent in H1 sales. With the introduction of EQA 250+ and EQB 350 five-seater BEVs, Mercedes-Benz plans to have 6 BEVs by the end of 2024.
