McLaren is ramping up its presence in India and has now launched the 750S in the country. A successor to the 720S, the British performance car brand has priced the 750S at a whopping Rs 5.91 crore (ex-showroom). It comes as a fully imported model under the CBU route and is available in two derivatives– Coupe and Spider (hardtop).
McLaren 750S: Exterior & interior
The exterior design of 750S is an evolutionary step over the outgoing 720S with highlights such as a redesigned front bumper flanked by sleek LED headlamps with DRLS, large splitter with air dams for better aerodynamics and cooling, a swooping bonnet and roofline, new wheel arch vents, and extended rear deck. It also gets a 20% larger active rear wing spoiler in comparison to its predecessor.
Step inside, and the cabin feels very functional with a minimalist layout and carbon fibre treatments all over the dashboard. Seat upholstery is made of Nappa leather. In terms of features it gets a fully-digital instrument cluster, an eight-inch infotainment system, wireless charger, smartphone connectivity, 360-degree surround camera, and a Bowers and Wilkins-sourced music system.
McLaren 750S: Underpinnings
The 750S gets a significantly revised chassis including a 6mm wider front track, and a faster steering rack. The British hypercar also receives lighter springs which are 3 percent softer at the front and 4 percent stiffer at the rear. In addition, it is also equipped with a suspension lift function that can be deployed in just 4 seconds which can be accessed via a button on the dashboard.
The revised chassis of the 750S has helped shave off 30 kilos over the 720S, bringing the dry weight down to 1,277kg. McLaren says the 750S gets the “segment-leading” power-to-weight ratio of 580 bhp per tonne.
McLaren 750S: Performance
Powering the McLaren 750S is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo, flat-plane V8 that dishes out 740 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque with no electrical assist. Transmission duties are carried out by a 7-speed automatic gearbox. As for performance, the British hypercar can clock a top speed of 332 kmph and can sprint to a 100 kmph from a standstill in 2.8 seconds.
