Maruti Suzuki Dzire hits 3 million production milestone

The company announces it has achieved this milestone in nearly 17 years, following milestones of 1 million in 2015 and 2 million in 2019, with other models like Alto, Swift, and WagonR also crossing 3 million.

Maruti Suzuki India surpassed the milestone of producing 3 million units of Dzire in around 16 years and 11 months. The company states that the Dzire reached 1 million units in production by April 2015 and hit 2 million units by June 2019. Other Maruti Suzuki models that have also crossed the 3 million production mark include the Alto, Swift, and WagonR.

Speaking on the milestone and thanking his team members and chain partners, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said, “We are deeply grateful to our customers for their continued trust, which has been a key to achieving the milestone of 3 million production for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Their feedback and support inspire us to continuously improve and innovate, ensuring the Dzire exceeds their expectations. The latest Dzire, launched last month, exemplifies this commitment, setting a new benchmark with its modern design, advanced features, and exceptional fuel efficiency. Over the years, Dzire has significantly contributed to our sales.” 

Launched in 2008, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire was followed by the second generation in 2012 and the third generation in 2017. The all-new 4th generation Dzire was launched in November 2024, featuring a modern design, stylish two-tone interiors, and several segment-first features.

All-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Powertrain

The five-seater sedan, the all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire, with automatic transmission, is powered by a Z12E engine type that has a displacement of 1197 cc and gives 80 bhp and 111.7 Nm of peak torque. It offers a mileage of 25.71 kmpl and has a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Some of the main features of the fourth-generation Dzire include an Anti-lock Braking system, six airbags, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), an engine start-stop button, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, alloy wheels and much more. 

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Expansion

The Dzire began exports in October 2008, and around 2.6 lakh units have been sent to 48 countries, including regions like Latin and Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, boosting Maruti Suzuki’s global presence internationally, other than in India. In FY 2023-24, the Dzire was the second-most exported model by Maruti Suzuki.
