Maruti Suzuki is preparing to make its debut in the electric vehicle segment with the all-new e Vitara. Ahead of its official launch on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the company has released a fresh teaser. The new teaser showcases key design elements and provides a glimpse of the cabin. Here’s what we know so far.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Exteriors
The e Vitara is based on an all-new Heartect-e platform that is exclusively for electric vehicles. The production-ready e Vitara sports new Y-shaped LED DRLs inside the headlamp cluster, extended LED tail lamps and a muscular front bumper housing fog lamps. The side profile gets chunky-looking wheel arches, and the rear passenger door handles are integrated into the C-pillar. The tailgate sports a silver finish Suzuki logo along with e Vitara badge.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Interiors
According to the teaser, the India-spec e Vitara will feature a rotary dial on the centre console, similar to the international version, along with an electronic parking brake. The global model boasts a dual-tone cabin, a new flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel, vertically aligned air conditioning vents, and chrome accents on the dashboard. Additionally, the e Vitara will come with a twin-screen setup, one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument cluster.
The e Vitara is expected to be the first Maruti vehicle equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Other notable features will include six airbags, ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a regenerative braking system, and more.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Battery and Rivals
The e Vitara in the global market is available in two battery packs — 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The Maruti EV SUV will compete against the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, the Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV and the MG ZS EV.
