Auto Expo 2016: Mated with a 6-speed Asisin automatic gearbox, the 1.6-litre diesel engine of the Mahindra-Ssangyong Tivoli churns out a maximum power output of 113bhp and a peak torque of 300Nm.
Launched last year in its home-market Korea, Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV today made its debut at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016 – the Motor Show. Since the vehicle is already on test for quite sometime in India, we expect it to be launched sometime later this year. Though no official statement on its launch timeline was made by Mahindra & Mahindra.
The Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli takes its design inspiration from the SsangYong XIV-Adventure concepts. Based on SsangYong’s new design philosophy, the Mahindra-SsangYong Tivoli looks a lot better than most Ssangyong SUVs on sale currently. The India-bound SsangYong Tivoli will come in both petrol and diesel engine options. Power for the vehicle comes from 1.6-litre petrol & diesel engines, which are the same that power the global model as well.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine, on the other hand, develops 126bhp and 160Nm. The vehicle could be launched with both the automatic and manual transmission.
Just like the Rexton, the SsangYong Tivoli might also be made locally to price it quite competitively. The Tivoli compact SUV will rival the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Hyundai Creta.
