Mahindra has been churning out good numbers for a few years now. The company made some major launches in the post-pandemic era. Thar, XUV700 and Scorpio N, all of them massive successes in the Indian market. The Chakan-based automaker sold a total of 68,413 vehicles in the country in March this year including PVs, CVs, and tractors.
These numbers account for both domestic sales and exports and resulted in an overall YoY growth of 4%. Coming to the passenger vehicle segment, Mahindra sold 40,631 utility vehicles in March 2024 in the domestic market, resulting in a YoY growth of 13%. During the same period last year, Mahindra sold 35,997 PVs.
It should be noted that Mahindra only retails UVs in the passenger vehicle space. Overall, Mahindra dispatched 41,161 UVs in March this year, including domestic and exports.
According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “We ended the financial year F24 on a positive note with Mahindra PikUps crossing 2 lakh units during the year, which is the highest ever for any commercial vehicle in the load segment in India. In March, we sold a total of 40,631 SUVs, with a growth of 13% and 68,413 total vehicles, a 4% growth over last year.”

Upcoming Mahindra launches
Earlier this year, Mahindra introduced the updated XUV400 electric SUV with more features and specs. Mahindra’s next big launch will be the XUV300 facelift expected to take place in April 2024. The upcoming iteration of the subcompact SUV will get a refreshed styling and some more features on board.
