With Lotus setting foot in India with the Eletre last year, the company now has plans to expand its portfolio in the country this year. The British luxury performance car manufacturer will kickstart the year by launching two new vehicles in India— Emira and Emeya. Both models will be hitting the Indian market on January 16.
Lotus will also inaugurate its new showroom for Delhi NCR on the same day based out of World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar. The company has shared invites for the same to the media. Both models will land in India as a fully-imported CBU, hence, expect a hefty price tag.
Lotus Emira: Specs & Features
Starting with the Emira, as per the web site, the sports car will be available in two variants: First Edition and V6 First Edition. The former is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which pushes out 360 bhp and 430 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The top speed on this variant is 275 kmph whereas it can sprint to 100 kmph from a standstill in 4.4 seconds.
The V6 First Edition, on the other hand, is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine which is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This engine dishes out 400 horses along with 420 Nm for the manual, and 430 Nm of torque for the automatic. This version of the British sports car can breach the 100 kmph from stand still in 4.3 seconds and clock a top speed of 290 kmph.
In terms of features, Emira is equipped with LED automatic headlights, climate control, keyless start, cruise control, electric folding rearview mirrors, a 10-speaker audio system, heated driver and passenger seats, etc.
Lotus Emeya: Specs & Features
The Lotus Emeya is an all-electric roadster which uses a dual motor architecture that dishes out around 900 horses and 985 Nm of peak torque. The twin-motor setup gets an all-wheel drive layout with a battery pack that promises a range of 435–485 km on a single charge. The all-electric hypercar can reach a top speed of 256 kmph and it can reach triple digit speed from a standstill at a rapid 2.78 seconds.
The unique point about the Emeya is that it gets a 2-speed transmission. In terms of features, it gets an electric active anti-roll bar and an active rear axle steering.
