Kia has taken the covers off the new Carens Clavis which the company says is a more premium alternative to the existing Carens. Bookings for the new Carens will commence from 00:01 AM on 9 May 2025. Interested buyers can pre-book the new Carens Clavis at a token amount of Rs 25,000 via Kia’s official website or an authorised dealership.
Prices of the new Carens Clavis will most likely be announced next month. The current Carens will remain on sale. Kia Carens Clavis will be available in seven trims namely HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX & HTX+. As expected, it gets a wide range of updates over the existing Carens.
Kia Carens Clavis: Updated Exterior
As seen previously in the teasers and spy shots, the Carens Clavis flaunts Kia’s new Digital Tiger Face featuring a new split headlamp setup up front, Starmap LED Connected Taillamps, 17-inch crystal-cut ,dual-tone alloy wheels, front & rear skid plates with Satin Chrome finish, side door garnish inserts on Metal Paint, and new Ivory Silver Gloss body colour.
Speaking of colours, Clavis will be available across – Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl and Clear White.
Kia Carens Clavis: Interiors & Features
Kia Carens Clavis comes with either a seven-seat or a six-seat layout The latter gets bench seats in the middle row. The Clavis also scored brownie points for a more premium cabin featuring Triton Navy & Beige dual-tone interiors with Beige & Navy Leatherette seats.
In terms of features, Carens Clavis comes loaded with all bells and whistles such as a twin 26.62-inch panoramic display, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, dual-camera dash cam (with mobile application), front ventilated seats, in-built navigation, Bose audio system, etc. It also comes with a Boss Mode, where the second row passenger can adjust the distance of the co-driver’s seat from behind and adjust the legroom.
When it comes to safety, Kia Carens Clavis will feature Level 2 ADAS, which includes advanced systems like Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Departure Warning. In addition to the ADAS suite, the Clavis will also offer standard safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and a 360-degree camera.
Kia Carens Clavis: Powertrain
The new Kia Carens Clavis retains the same powertrain setup as the regular Carens including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, 6-speed clutchless manual (iMT), 6-speed torque converter automatic, and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
