Google Trends: Top 5 SUVs creating buzz in May

The Indian car market has become an SUV-driven space with buyers preferring vehicles with higher ground clearance and taller stance over hatchbacks and sedans. This also shows up in Google. Here are the top 5 SUVs which are creating buzz on the internet in the past 30 days.

Honda Elevate

Honda Elevate has found itself in this chart primarily because of two reasons. Earlier this month, Honda launched a special Apex Summer Edition of Elevate priced at Rs 12.39 lakh and Rs 13.59 lakh (both ex-showroom), for manual and CVT variants, respectively. It gets some exterior and interior enhancements over the standard Elevate. Further, Honda is offering very attractive discounts of up to Rs 76,000 on the mid-size SUV for the month of May.

Tata Curvv

Tata Curvv is a very high trending vehicle on the internet. Available in multiple powertrain options including petrol, diesel, and fully-electric, Tata Motors is now gearing up to launch CNG variants of the coupe SUV. Moreover, earlier this month a few units of the Curvv EV Dark Edition were delivered to the Rashtrapati Bhavan with the company announcing that all Tata.ev range vehicles are now available for sale on Government e Marketplace for all government bodies across the country.

Kia Carens Clavis

Not exactly an SUV but its bold and tall stance make the Kia Carens Clavis a proper SUV alternative thanks to its bold styling and muscular stance. Kia unveiled the Carens Clavis earlier this month. Pre-bookings for the new MPV have commenced from May 9 onwards at a token amount of Rs 25,000 via Kia’s official website or an authorised dealership. Prices will be announced on 23 May.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch is not only the highest-selling SUVs in India but also one of the highest-selling passenger vehicles in India over the last 3-4 years. A major and a simple reason for Tata Punch to often pop in Google’s search query is the fact it has a high traffic volume from prospective buyers. With average company dispatch ranging between 15,000 and 20,000 units per month (including Punch EV), Punch is a very popular car on the internet in India.

Jeep Compass

The major reason for Jeep Compass to show up on this list is the fact that Stellantis unveiled the second generation model of the Compass recently. In the making for some time now, the Jeep Compass will be available in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrain options. The SUV is a whole lot different from the current model and based on a more advanced STLA Medium  platform from Stellantis. Unfortunately though, the second-gen Compass will not land in India.
