Gone in 40 days: Mahindra delivers 6300 units of BE 6, XEV 9e

According to Mahindra, the SUV manufacturer is the number one EV player in the country in terms of revenue market share.

Mahindra & Mahindra announced in the Q4 earnings call that 6,300 electric vehicles (EV) were delivered in India in just 40 days. These vehicles include the recently launched born electric vehicles, the BE 6 and the XEV 9e. Both the EVs created history when 30,179 units were booked on day one, and a booking value of Rs 7,472 crores.

Mahindra-born electric duo

The Indian SUV maker commenced the delivery of the top-of-the-line variants, the Pack Three, of the  BE 6 and the XEV 9e from March 20, 2025, onwards. Mahindra had revealed that 59% of the EVs in demand are the flagship model, the XEV 9e, and customers are opting for the top trim. Mahindra also stated that the remaining bookings of these two EV SUVs have a waiting period of around 4 to 5 months.

At the earnings call, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, Auto & Farm Sector, Mahindra and Mahindra, said that the company is the number one EV player in the country in terms of revenue market share. He further explained that even though the company is not looking for volume market share and the Mahindra EVs are priced higher than the competition, the remains number one by revenue market share. 

Mahindra XEV 9E, BE 6 specs

Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are based on the INGLO skateboard electric platform developed in-house by Mahindra. Both vehicles are available with a choice of two battery packs — 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The former offers a range of 557km and the latter delivers a range of 682km on the BE 6, while the same battery pack options return a range of 542km and 656km, respectively, in the XEV 9e.
