Honda Cars India Ltd announced year-on-year domestic sales growth of 13 per cent last year as compared to September 2022. The Japanese car manufacturer registered sales of 9,861 units in September 2023.
Elevate boosts Honda sales
So what has helped Honda propel its sales growth? Like with every other manufacturer, the demand for SUVs boosted the company’s growth. Honda re-entered the mid-size SUV segment in September with the launch of the Elevate and according to the company, it has added to the sales momentum as the new vehicle has received an overwhelming response in the market. The deliveries of the Elevate started in September 2023.
Honda’s take on September sales
Speaking on domestic sales in September, Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Honda Cars India is amid an exciting phase with the launch of the all-new Honda Elevate. The new SUV has emerged as a frontrunner and is contributing significantly to the sales momentum during this festive season. The Honda City and Amaze also continue to perform well in their respective segments.”
He further added, “The auto industry is experiencing strong demand at the beginning of the festive season. With an extended festive period this year, we expect this momentum to continue, which is very encouraging.”
