Ducati has teased the Multistrada V4 RS on its social media handles ahead of its launch in India. The teaser highlights the bike’s angry-looking face featuring a pair of sleek twin-pod LED headlamps with integrated DRLs with the apron extending into a sharp beak and an adjustable fly screen on top.
The Multistrada V4 RS made its global debut in October last year and sits on top of the Multistrada range in Ducati’s lineup. In India, Ducati offers the V4, V4 Rally, V4 S, and V4 Pikes Peak in the Multistrada range besides the V2 models.
Ducati Multistrada V4 RS: Powertrain specs
Although rooted in adventure touring, the Multistrada V4 deviates from its lineage by adopting the potent heart of Ducati’s sportier Panigale and Streetfighter models. Notably, the V4 RS stands alone in the Multistrada range, harnessing its power from a robust 1,103cc V4 desmodromic engine, derived from the esteemed Desmosedici Stradale V4 unit.
This engine unleashes 180 bhp and 119 Nm of peak torque, surpassing the Granturismo V4 by 11 bhp while trailing by 7 Nm. Shared with the Panigale and Streetfighter lineups, this powerplant is paired with a six-speed gearbox and enhanced by Ducati’s STM Evo-SBK dry clutch, as well as a standard bi-directional quickshifter, further amplifying its performance capabilities.
Ducati Multistrada V4 RS: Hardware specs
Enhanced performance in the new Multistrada V4 RS is complemented by substantial upgrades in its equipment. While retaining the aluminium monocoque main frame from its predecessors, the V4 RS features a lightweight titanium rear subframe, shedding 2.5 kg compared to the standard Multistrada.
The chassis is supported by a premium Ohlins-sourced suspension system, comprising fully adjustable front forks with titanium nitride treatment and a rear monoshock. Braking capabilities are elevated with 330mm dual front discs and a 265mm single rear disc, backed by dual-channel ABS. Additionally, the Multistrada V4 RS rides on 17-inch forged Marchesini alloys, wrapped in high-performance Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres.
Ducati Multistrada V4 RS: Features
A comprehensive suite of features complements the Multistrada V4 RS’s impressive mechanical capabilities. Electronic aids abound, including four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low) and four ride modes (Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban), as well as advanced systems like traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, and engine braking control.
Additional convenience features include hill-hold control, radar-assisted adaptive cruise control, and blind spot detection. The bike’s technological prowess is further showcased by its 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster, which boasts navigation, screen mirroring, and exclusive RS graphics. A notable innovation is the cornering function for the headlight, which enhances visibility and safety during turns.
Ducati Multistrada V4 RS: Expected India launch & price
Ducati has designated the Multistrada V4 RS as a “numbered” edition, with each unit featuring a unique numbered plaque on the triple clamp, hinting at its exclusivity. Although not officially classified as a limited edition model, this distinction underscores the bike’s special status. It is expected to hit the Indian market in the next few days.
The track-focused adventure tourer made its market debut in the USA in January 2024, with a price tag of USD 37,995 (approximately Rs. 31.58 lakh, excluding taxes). As of now, there is no confirmation on whether the Multistrada V4 RS will be launched in India. However, if it does make its way to the Indian market, expect it to command a premium price of over Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
