On the inside, however, you can see strong links with to the Go+, in fact, it’s almost identical to the Datsun Go+. Including the all-black theme, identical instrument cluster and steering wheel (which now also features a few silver inserts). However, the most important addition to the Cross will be a 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system, although it will connect to the same two speaker setup.
Being their most premium product, the Cross gets a whole lot of exclusive upmarket kit, from automatic follow me home lamps, front and rear power windows and electronically adjusted ORVMs. Safety will also be on the list for the global cross dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, stability control (called VDC), traction control and rear parking sensors.
The engine, however, remains identical to the Go+ which make 68 hp and 104 Nm of torque, the 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine might get an automatic as well as a 5-speed manual gearbox. Up until now, we had no idea whether Datsun Cross would ultimately make the cut for India, but having spoken to Mr Saigot we firmly believe that this might make it to India sooner than we had expected.
